Our Approach

Idle Hands Summer Youth Employment Program partnered with the City of Key West years ago. Every year the City gives us $35,000 to help cover the cost of payroll for students working for the City during the summer. The Key West High School provides a classroom for the students who participate in a two week job readiness orientation.

The total cost to cover the summer youth employment program, which also includes one part time staff person is $70,000 APSMC does not have a funding source to cover the remaining $35,000. We have to raise the funds to pay the 25-30 students.

The Key West Sunrise Rotary Club and private donors help us every year. This program has been successful since 2010 but would not be possible without our sponsors.
