Programs.

APSMC has various programs including our "Idle Hands" Summer Youth Program and serving “Southernmost Fatherhood Program, serving high risk fathers. We have also recently developed a fill in the gaps program to help with the COVID-19 response. With help from private donors, help from the City and sponsors we are able to fund these highly effective local programs.

Community.

Parents and their kids are invited every year to a ‘Fun Day for Dads and Kids,’ presented by A Positive Step of Monroe County. Kids can interact and enjoy free food, play activities and prizes together while Dads also have an opportunity to learn more about the Southernmost Fatherhood Initiative program, which provides cost-free parenting skill coaching and other support services for dads.

Proven Methods.

APSMC has been serving Monroe County’s highest risk kids and their families since 1999. APSMC seeks to identify unmet needs within our community, and to provide innovative evidence based services to meet those needs. Our ultimate goal is to improve outcomes for the juveniles and families we serve while protecting the public by reducing juvenile crime and dependency in Florida.

We offer job training funded through the Truist Foundation

Counseling services via ZOOM and in person.
